How to host a website on AWS

AWS has many tools to help you manage your website. AWS hosts basic websites. You can also use their hosted area to host domains. You can setup your subdomains and nameservers. Nameservers

If you want to host a website on Amazon Web Services, you'll need to set up nameservers for your hosted zone. There are several ways to do this. You can use Route 53 to handle DNS queries. Cloudfront is another option.

This service uses Route 53, which is used for private hosted areas. It also has a second CIDR Ip for each VPC. This allows any resource inside a VPC, to resolve both private or public domain names. Routing policies and health check are the only restrictions. If you don't mind these restrictions, you can use Route 53 to set up split horizon DNS, which allows you to have multiple hosting zones on different IP addresses.

Subdomains

AWS hosted zones have subdomains that are managed in the same way as the main domain. Amazon Route 53 provides a console where you can create new subdomains. Simply enter the domain name in the field, and then add a comment. AWS will store information about the subdomain in its hosted area.

Hosted zones include information about how to route traffic from domains and subdomains. DNS records can be used to convert domain names into IP address. If the domain name doesn’t match an address on the IP, a nameserver can be used. DNS failover allows hosts to failover domains between other hosts if one fails.

Configuration
